Sacrifice for Real Beauty

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through in once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

I actually just got this quote in an e-mail from a friend and I think it's beautiful.

When I was talking to my sister before she left for Africa, we were talking about what I should do post-graduation. Her one line of advice she told me was to decide by asking myself "what can you do to make this world a less shitty place?" This is a huge challenge, but she is currently making a huge sacrifice and helping people in Africa. Finding something to satisfy this bit of advice is not the easiest thing, but a great guideline!

That was a side note, but I thought fit perfectly with the quote. Beyond that, I just need to share with everyone how sick I am of the body image battle. I am surrounded by people who seem to have an extremely hard time going out in public without makeup on or without perfectly straightening their hair--get over it! If you follow the guidelines listed above, which I understand can be extremely difficult, you will find yourself to be much more beautiful of a person, inside and out. Wow, how cliche does that sound? I don't care how cliche it is, because it is true. Any small sacrifice I have made, and the many that people I know have made, make me believe it with all my heart.

When asked what beautiful is, everyone should answer with the quote that is listed above.
